Weapon Forms

Participant Guidelines:

  • Forms: Competitors may perform weapon forms from any martial arts style, with acrobatic movements allowed.
  • Weapons: All weapons must be safe for performance, inspected, and approved by officials before the event.
  • Uniform: Traditional or performance-appropriate uniforms are required.
  • Music: Allowed - Athlete must provide their own delivery system to play it.

Performance Criteria:

  • Technique: Proper handling and control of the weapon, with emphasis on accuracy, fluidity, and skill.
  • Creativity and Acrobatics: Effective and safe incorporation of acrobatic movements, enhancing the performance.
  • Power and Speed: Execution of techniques with dynamic power and speed, appropriate to the weapon form.
  • Focus and Presentation: Competitors should demonstrate confidence, intensity, and a strong presentation throughout.  

Judging and Scoring:

  • Execution: Skill in weapon handling, including control, precision, and posture.
  • Creativity and Difficulty: Effective use of acrobatic moves and difficulty of the weapon form.
  • Presentation: Overall impact, including timing, rhythm, and spirit.
  • Penalties: Points deducted for dropped weapons, unsafe handling, or uniform non-compliance.    

Performance Time:

  •  Time Limit: 2-3 minutes per athlete.             

Safety Standards:

  •  Weapon Inspection: Weapons must pass a safety check before the event.
  • Conduct: Respectful behavior is mandatory, and unsafe or disrespectful actions may lead to disqualification.
